New data shows Canberra has seven suburbs where the median house value tops $1 million.
RP Data details for the ACT revealed the city has had about seven suburbs make the rich list for the past five years.
In 2012, there were eight with the addition of the suburb of Turner. In 2013, Deakin was named the eighth million dollar-plus suburb.
The suburbs of Barton, Forrest, Deakin, O'Malley and Yarralumla have recorded median house price values above six figures for the past five years.
According to the data, Forrest is the suburb with the highest median value in the ACT with $2,114,357.
However the exclusive location is only 34th on the national list of suburbs with the highest median value.
Point Piper in Sydney has the highest value of more than $5.5 million.
The RP Data report, compiled on sales data, showed there were 417 suburbs nationally with a median value of $1 million or more.
A striking property in Red Hill could help lift the median value for the suburb when it goes under the hammer in late September.
The home, at 149 Mugga Way, hits the market this weekend and is expected to be the biggest sale on the golden mile so far this year.
The two-level executive residence has views over Canberra from its position at the end of the prestigious street.
The property is understood to be owned by Vincent John Adams Flynn, an heir to the Tattersalls gambling fortune.
Dr Flynn was revealed in 2011 to be the mystery buyer of the historic Westridge House in Yarralumla, which was auctioned in late 2010.
The millionaire purchased the historic property for $3.2 million, with plans to live in the community-zoned mansion.
Peter Blackshaw Manuka principal Andrew Chamberlain said he expected the sale of the Mugga Way house to exceed recent sales results for comparable homes in the area.
This includes 14 Tennyson Crescent in Forrest, and 4 Charlotte Street in Red Hill – both sold recently for a little over $3 million each.
He said the home had been built to rarely-seen high standards. Standout features include the custom-fitted joinery in the library, blue-stone retaining walls, the lift, and the sizes of the individual rooms.
"It will certainly appeal to a lot of people – there will be no shortage of people who will want to buy it," Mr Chamberlain said.
No.6 Mugga Way, a property in largely original condition, sold in June for $2.765 million.
The highest sale on the golden mile in the past 18 months was the off-market sale of 20 Mugga Way, which exchanged for $7.2 million in October, property data showed.
