For years, residents of the southside suburb have lived in fear of their car tyres being damaged by the slasher.
In response to a question from Liberal MLA Giulia Jones, ACT Police Minister Simon Corbell has revealed police raided a suspect's home in April.
''ACT Policing identified a suspect and a search warrant was subsequently executed on the suspect's home,'' Mr Corbell told the ACT Assembly.
''There was insufficient evidence to prosecute the suspect. However, ACT Policing has and will continue to conduct surveillance activities in the Narrabundah area.''
In the four months immediately after the warrant was executed, there was no tyre slashing on the streets of Narrabundah.
''However, in the last three weeks, ACT Policing has received two reports of tyre slashing in Narrabundah,'' Mr Corbell said.
Mrs Jones asked Mr Corbell if the government would consider deploying closed circuit security cameras to help identify the slasher.
But Mr Corbell said the government had no plans to use CCTV cameras in suburban areas.
