Next year marks the centenary of Anzac Day.
Often, but not always, when a public holiday falls on a weekend, a public holiday is granted on a Monday.
Boxing Day in 2015 falls on a Saturday, so Monday, December 28, will be a public holiday.
Only Western Australians will get a public holiday on Monday, April 27 – all other states and territories will miss out on the additional day off.
The national president of the Returned and Services League, Ken Doolan, said the association did not comment on the decision of governments to add, or not have, an extra public holiday.
“Anzac Day is the day for veterans to remember the fallen,’’ Mr Doolan said.
