Onlookers watched as crews started removal of the concrete overhead footbridge, which has connected the nearby Woden Plaza shopping centre and the area's Hidden Gardens adjacent to the western side of the former Woden Police Station.

Crews completed the first day of work in hot conditions on Sunday.
Futher road closures are planned for the area as the works continue on Sunday, November 30, from 5am to 7pm.
Some ACTION bus services are expected to depart from different platforms while the work is completed.
