Operation Vitreus, a week-long action by all state and territory police and Australia Post to stop mail drug consignments, saw 29 envelopes and parcels containing drugs blocked before they arrived at ACT addresses.
During the operation, ACT Policing Criminal Investigation detectives seized synthetics, cannabis, steroids, methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine.
Police also seized a small amount of a methamphetamine precursor called phenyl-2-propanone, or P2P.
Nationally more than 1000 seizures were made, including 13 kilograms of cocaine, 22 kilograms of methamphetamine and more than 9000 steroid tablets.
Acting Station Sergeant Steven Ladd said the operation demonstrated anyone using the mail system to distribute drugs would be detected.
"Operation Vitreus was a successful operation, both locally and Australia-wide," he said.
"Locally, ACT Policing seized 1.56 litres of steroids which is a significant amount when compared to the Australia-wide total.
"ACT Policing also seized 1.062 kilograms of synthetic cannabis, 20 steroid tablets, 30 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of heroin and a quantity of cannabis."
Seizures of steroids destined for Canberra equated to 21 per cent of the Australia-wide total.
Police said investigations were ongoing in relation to a number of seizures. In Canberra, there is potential for five people to be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
