Police said the man grabbed the watches and ran off after he asked to be shown them by a shop assistant at around 2:10pm.
The offender is described as slim, of Asian appearance, in his mid-30's and about 168cm-173cm tall.
The alledged offender was wearing blue pants, a tweed style jacket, white hat and sunglasses, according to police, who released a face-fit image of the offender.
Police say reports also suggest the same man may be responsible for a similar theft at Westfield Woden last week.
