Police will investigate after a 18-year-old from Murrumbateman crashed a BMW sedan into a tree on the Barton Highway on Tuesday morning.

The teenager suffered serious injuries in the crash which closed the highway in both directions at the scene near Murrumbateman for over an hour on Tuesday.
Police believe the man lost control of the car near the intersection with Valencia Drive, between Yass and Murrumbateman, around 9.15am. The car veered off the road and into a tree.
The teenager sustained multiple injuries, including to his head, according to NSW Ambulance.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Hume police are investigating the crash and appealing for witnesses.
