While 226 drivers caught the police eye - or radar - in the three days last year, there was no positive talk from ACT Policing about the new figures on Friday.
Double demerit points for speeding and seatbelt offences and an extra point for all other traffic offences are in place through to midnight on Labour Day, Monday.
Police will be targeting speed during October, and Traffic Operations officer-in-charge Mark Steel said last weekend's speeding figures were frustrating.
''Speeding is a choice people make and they can just as easily make the choice to slow down and save lives,'' he said.
ACT Policing's acting Superintendent Rod Anderson said running red lights was the most serious traffic offence observed in September.
He reminded drivers of traffic-light rules.
''If it's safe to do so, stop at a yellow [light] - if possible, you need to stop,'' he said.
