A Charnwood woman is in a serious but stable condition after a car crash in Canberra’s north late on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the incident at the intersection of Kingsford Smith and Southern Cross Drives in Florey about 10pm.
Police said a 27-year-old Charnwood man driving a silver Ford Fairlane crashed into a silver Ford Falcon.
On arrival, emergency crews found the man’s 22-year-old partner trapped in the Fairlane.
The woman, who was pregnant, was treated for head, lower leg and abdominal injuries and taken to Canberra Hospital. Late on Thursday afternoon a hospital spokeswoman said she was in a serious but stable condition.
The 71-year-old male driver of the Falcon was treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Fairlane was unharmed, and police said he would be summonsed to face court for negligent driving.
Police are still investigating the incident, and are urging any witnesses to call 131 444 or contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website.
Correction: Police initially reported the driver had been charged with negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm. They have corrected this to say the man will be summonsed to face court for negligent driving.
