Both the Lifecycle 48-hour bike ride for blood cancers at Lake Burley Griffin and the Battle of the Beasts pursuit race at Namadgi National Park, which raises money for Soldier On, a support group for returning veterans, continue today.
About 500 riders are taking part in Lifecycle, which is raising funds for a dedicated ACT away-from-home house that can accommodate up to six families while a loved one receives treatment.
General manager of the Leukaemia Foundation Chris McMillan said the cyclists were on track to raise $150,000 this year.
A family-friendly event on Saturday night transformed the lake shore near the Carillon as more than 250 lanterns were formed in a procession to raise awareness and funds for people with blood cancer.
