But Christopher Guymer, 29, is back in custody on a charge of perverting the course of justice.

Guymer was refused bail when he appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday.

He was arrested in May after he and another Rebels member, Patrick Fortuna, 25, were allegedly found with two sawn-off shotguns.

Police alleged the pair had been planning revenge for a drive-by shooting in March, as tensions with the Comancheros Outlaw Motorcycle Gang increased.

Police told the court at the time that it was believed the pair had been shooting street signs.

Guymer was granted bail last month, and tendered two documents – a character reference and an email confirming a job interview – in support of the application.

But police allege one of the documents is fake.

Court documents said the character reference stated that a Jackson Haywood, business manager at JMC Roof Plumbing, had known Guymer for nine years, attested to his remorse, and offered fulltime employment upon his release from jail.

A second document was an email advising Guymer to schedule an interview for a job at a car repair workshop.

But a police investigation into the veracity of the documents allegedly revealed Jackson Haywood did not exist and the plumbing business had been deregistered since 2013.

The directors of the company before deregistration were allegedly listed as Chidi Okwechime, his girlfriend, and his brother Chukwuemeka Arinze, aka Emeka Okwechime.

The brothers have extensive criminal histories and are both currently behind bars in the Alexander Maconochie Centre, where police allege they had contact with Guymer.

Court documents said the number provided for Jackson Haywood belonged to a young woman who is currently overseas.

The woman's father allegedly told police she did not know Guymer or a Jackson Haywood, and her car had been broken into in June and her iPad stolen.

Police said the author of the job interview offer reported Guymer had not contacted him about employment.

The matter will reappear next week.
