The home at 35 Mueller Street in Yarralumla was listed for sale in May with a $2,250,000 price tag and had attracted a fair amount of interest.
Sales agent for the property, Peter Blackshaw's Shane Killalea, confirmed a tenant would be moving into the home ''for a little while''.
''It's off the market for the time being,'' he said. But the agent could not provide further comments as to why the home had been taken off the market.
The Rudd family had left the house at the end of 2011 following son Marcus' completion of year 12 and it had been leased out since.
The Prime Minister had put the home up for sale following the tenants' intentions to purchase another property and move out. The home has been vacant for just under a month.
The luxury lodging had attracted interest from potential buyers in Sydney, as well as those who just wanted a sneak peek inside.
