School's nod to Rats of Tobruk

The ACT Tobruk Association called Giralang Primary the school with the Anzac spirit. Giralang Primary, which has had ties with the Rats of Tobruk since 1999 and is the custodian of their ceremonial banner, was awarded a grant to establish a display area at the front entry of the school to commemorate the Rats of Tobruk. More than 60 projects across Australia that honoured Australian servicemen and women were awarded government grants this year. Yesterday Governor-General Quentin Bryce visited the school and unveiled stage one of the Rats of Tobruk Memorial Wall. The unveiling followed the school's Anzac Assembly.
