Canberra prosecutors have closed their case against a man accused of hatching a jailhouse plot to kidnap and kill two teenagers before they could testify against him in court.

Aaron James Holliday, 28, is on trial in the ACT Supreme Court accused of perverting the course of justice, and inciting kidnapping and murder.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
In 2010, Holliday was in jail awaiting trial on allegations he abused three boys, aged 12 to 15, who he befriended between 2006 and 2009.
Prosecutor Shane Drumgold closed the Crown case against Holliday. The Crown alleges Holliday approached another inmate late in May and asked for help to beat the charges.
The alleged plot involved the kidnapping of the two witnesses set to give evidence against him at trial, forcing them to retract their statements on film, and then killing them.
An outline of the plan and a script for the teens to read on camera were allegedly drafted by Holliday and handed to the other inmate to be smuggled out of jail.
In his opening submissions, Mr Drumgold said the eight-page document had been seized from Holliday's cell during a raid in July 2010.
The document also allegedly considered bribing a judge, which had been ruled out as risky and expensive.
Mr Drumgold said the documents had been typed on a jail computer accessed by the accused, and his fingerprints had been located on the printed pages.
Police also found a diary kept by Holliday in his cell, which alleged the inmate had attempted to extort him.
But Mr Drumgold said the entries had been a "feeble attempt to shift blame" in the event he was informed on.
The inmate gave evidence in the case on the first and second day of the trial.
He told the court Holliday had approached him after hearing he had connections with a Canberra motorcycle gang.
The witness said Holliday outlined the plan and asked him to organise it through his contacts.
But he said Holliday continued to pester him, so he set a price tag of $50,000, with half paid upfront, to complete the plan and agreed to help smuggle out the documents.
The inmate instead handed the documents – which he said he did not fully read – to jail staff.
During cross-examination, defence barrister Ray Livingston said the "polar opposite" had occurred, and suggested the man had pursued Holliday with an offer to take care of his problems.
The man denied the claim.
He also rejected a defence suggestion that he had given Holliday a handwritten note of the plan and told him to type it up, with the threat of violence if refused.
"There's no such document," the witness said.
The witness admitted he did not like Holliday, who he described as "secretive", "evasive", and a "paedophile".
He admitted he did not know why he initially went along with Holliday's approach.
