ACT Policing found the shotgun and a blue long sleeve hooded jumper in a hedge on Empire Circuit, near the Tennyson Crescent intersection in Forrest.
It is believed the shotgun and jumper may have been dumped in Forrest during the past two weeks, police say. It will undergo forensic and ballistic testing.
Police found a replica pistol and shortened air rifle while executing a search warrant in Griffith last week.
Those able to provide police with more information about the shotgun or jumper are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
