Spring in Canberra: all about the birds and bluebells

Spring, having waited in ambush all winter, has sprung out on us yet again and the season's manifestations are everywhere. Soon the city's verges and median strips will be decorated with the heavenly-blue wild native bluebells of our picture which turn out (all will be explained in a few moments) to be edible!
