In her third day giving evidence, and her second under cross-examination, the woman was also forced to reject accusations she lied about what had happened between her and 22-year-old Sebastian Crago Ellis. He has pleaded not guilty to six alleged sexual offences, including rape and attempted rape.

In one exchange during Stuart Littlemore QC's questioning of the woman, the barrister asked if the student knew that she could, and if she would like to, take back the allegations against Mr Ellis.

Would you like some time to consider it? - No.

You'd like to bat on, would you? - Yes.

The ACT Supreme Court trial this week has heard that the student, who cannot legally be identified, and the cadet began consensual sexual activity in his room after a night out at Civic nightclub Mooseheads on July 24, 2016.

But prosecutors contend Mr Ellis then raped and attempted to rape the woman early that morning. The student says she was clear about what sexual acts she would consent to and that Mr Ellis failed to respect her boundaries. It follows a first alleged incident a month earlier, in which the woman says Mr Ellis groped her in Mooseheads.

Directing his questions to the television screen on which the woman appeared in court from a remote witness room, Mr Littlemore accused the woman of lying about the incident on the Mooseheads dance floor. The woman admitted they were dancing intimately at the club, but she denied contentions she had initiated the groping.

Mr Littlemore also read out what he called "vulgar" messages between the 20-year-old pair in the weeks before the alleged rape. He called the exchanges "foreplay by Facebook", and suggested it was no Jane Austen novel.

"There was only one message you were sending him. Again and again and again you were sexually stimulating him," he said. She said she believed they were having entertaining discussions.

Mr Littlemore said: "Your complaint about Sebastian is that you drew boundaries and he's crossed them?"

"Correct," she replied, but she denied the barrister's further suggestions that the boundary she had drawn was more a "dotted line" and open to change than a "bright red line".

When questioned about the conversation she had recorded between herself and the cadet, the woman denied she had "entrapped" Mr Ellis, and said she recorded the conversation because she wanted to hear what she had said.

Mr Littlemore suggested Mr Ellis had not admitted anything in the recording, but had abased himself in an attempt to mollify her.

"He would have said anything to save his career, you can understand that?" he asked.

"I can understand, yes," she said.

The student also denied that she wanted anything more with Mr Ellis than casual sex, and the reason was because she knew he was interested in another woman.

Mr Littlemore suggested that was untrue, and that she only found out about Mr Ellis' interest in another woman later on. "That's what made you make that decision [to prosecute]?" Mr Littlemore prompted, which the student rejected.

Mr Ellis, who is from Melbourne, is charged with two counts of attempted rape, one rape, two acts of indecency without consent and one act of indecency in the third degree. He has pleaded not guilty to each count.
