Teenage girl held at knife-point in Griffith newsagency

A teenage girl was held at knife-point by a man who threatened to kill her unless the owner of a Griffith newsagency handed over the contents of the shop’s register on Sunday morning.

Police say the man entered the newsagency around 11.45am and grabbed the teenage girl before issuing his demands to the owner of the newsagency, who complied.

The wanted man then ran from the newsagency with the stolen cash before getting into a silver four-door sedan that was parked nearby

The man has been described as being around 183cm tall and of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance with a solid build.

He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and grey track pants and his face was covered with a light coloured bandana.

Police have encouraged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
