Sikwila had to perform against her three teammates, all coached by Ricky Martin, singing a slowed down version of the song Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon.
"I didn't get the reaction from the coaches that I would've liked," she said.
"Ricky told me it gave him goose bumps and I felt good about that. But I didn't really get much feedback whether they liked what I'd done with the song, so I started to get a bit worried."
While she didn't win the round, she placed as runner-up which means she gets a second chance to prove herself in the sing-offs.
"Being in the sing-off you're stuck in limbo and not knowing whether you're staying or going," she said.
The former Canberran was also given a second chance earlier in the competition during the battle round, when her original coach Kylie Minogue sent her home and Martin chose to save her for his own team.
For the showdowns, the regular judges were joined by guest judges Kirk Pengilly from INXS, apl.de.ap from The Black Eyes Peas, as well as singers Megan Washington and Havana Brown.
Sikwila got to work with Australian DJ and singer Brown, who has sold more than 2.8 million singles worldwide.
"It was incredible. She's a really great performer and vocalist, she's not just a DJ," Sikwila said.
"I wasn't too sure what she'd be able to offer with the mentoring session. Ricky focuses a lot on the emotional focus of the song, but she gave me tips for performance so it was really good getting that advice from her."
Sikwila will now perform in the sings-offs for Team Ricky, which airs on Monday, June 16 and is the final stage before the live finals.
