The Oxford Dictionary, which has welcomed the word into its hallowed tome, defines ''selfie'' as: A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.
Submit your group selfies to social@canberratimes.com.au and remember to include your first and last names, when the photo was taken and where it was taken.
Sunday Selfies kicks off this week with photos from the Young Australian of the Year lunch, the Australia Celebrates Live concert, the Cavalry awards night, the Royal Canberra Show launch, Canberra United's match and Thursday's opening of the film Backyard Ashes at Limelight Cinemas.

Five tips for great group selfies
1. Confidence … if you are going to show yourselves off, have fun doing it. Nobody wants to look at a sad selfie.
2. There is a time and a place for group selfies. Yes, there are limits about where to take selfies. Funerals and memorial services are a no, as learned by Barack Obama, David Cameron and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela's memorial.
3. Work a flattering angle. This does not mean all selfies need to be taken shooting down at your faces - although it can be a very good angle.
4. Set it up. Be mindful of what is in the background. It might add to the photo or you might want to focus more on just the faces.
5. If you reverse the screen on your smartphone (so you can see yourselves when you are taking the shot), be aware this generally reduces the quality of the image. So try it both ways. The benefit of reversing is that you can tap the screen twice to help focus. The benefit of not reversing is you can use the flash if you are indoors.
