There's no guarantee of domestic bliss

ACT same-sex marriage legislation is by no means legally or constitutionally safe, but overriding it would require positive Commonwealth action that it might not feel obliged to take - even in defence of the idea that marriage can only be between a man and a woman. An attack through the courts could easily fail -creating a serious own-goal for busybodies believing they were defending the ''sanctity'' of marriage.
