“The photographer in me doesn’t stop,” he said.
“It’s a constant back and forth battle, wanting to climb but also to take photos.”
For Ainslie resident Price, though, the winters Canberra has to throw at him are nothing compared with his climbing expeditions to Nepal or the Canadian Rockies.
“Canberra’s great like that, one of its funniest aspects is you can always climb even in the middle of winter as long as the sun’s out.”
On the other side of town, P-J Taylor caught a more serene aspect of winter, never far from his camera while taking his family to Lake Ginninderra.
“I took my kids to the playground there,” he said.
“At the end of the day we walked around the lake, and I snuck away while they fed the ducks and swans.”
Although only on a short visit from South Australia, Taylor was enchanted by Canberra’s natural landscape that shone in the picturesque days that even winter had to offer.
“I love the beauty of the place, the natural scenery of being surrounded by mountains in a valley,” he said.
