Ryan Taylor has been charged with aiding and abetting Leigh Coulter to commit aggravated robbery.
It is alleged Taylor, 27, stood at the door of the Caltex service station in Kaleen while Coulter, 23, robbed the store on the night of August 24.
Police say one of two men stood in the doorway, stopping the automatic doors from closing, while his balaclava-wearing partner jumped the counter with a tyre iron.
It is alleged he assaulted the cashier before taking $300.
CCTV released last month shows a member of the public intervening.
Taylor was taken into custody yesterday afternoon after search warrants were executed on homes in Macgregor and Scullin.
The prosecution did not oppose the Dunlop man’s release on bail this morning.
Magistrate Peter Morrison granted the father-of-two bail on conditions he not contact Coulter and one other person, and that he not drink alcohol.
Coulter also faced court this morning after being arrested at his home in Reid yesterday, following an anonymous police tip-off through the Crime Stoppers telephone line.
He has been charged with aggravated robbery and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
No pleas were entered this morning and Coulter did not apply for bail.
He was formally remanded in custody and is due to face court again later this month.
