Police said the boy, 17, and a woman, 18, were seen removing the fly screen from a window on the side of the Warrego Circuit house shortly after 11am.

The neighbour noticed the pair and called police.

One of the teenagers allegedly picked up a nearby roof tile and smashed the kitchen window open and went inside, before opening the laundry door to let the other offender inside.

They allegedly sifted through cupboards and draws and stuffed their pockets with jewellery, phones, car keys and cash.

Police said they found the pair in the house's main bedroom and arrested them when they arrived at the house about 11.15am.

The owner of the property later said the items the pair allegedly took were his.

Each was charged with aggravated burglary with attempt to commit theft and attempted minor theft.

The woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court and the boy will appear in the ACT Children's Court on Tuesday.
