Two ACT universities have been named among the top 100 universities in the Asia-Pacific in new rankings released on Wednesday - one making the top 10.

The Times Higher Education inaugural Asia-Pacific University Rankings placed the Australian National University eighth in the region and the University of Canberra 81st.
Times Higher Education ranked 243 universities on teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. The top spot was claimed by the National University of Singapore.
ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Schmidt said he was "delighted" the ANU was listed in the elite top 10 after being ranked among the top 20 in the world last month.
"I also congratulate the University of Canberra for joining the top 100 universities in the Asia-Pacific," he said.
"Having two Canberra universities recognised for their excellence underscores the strength of the national capital in higher education, and as a great place to live, study and research."
University of Canberra vice-chancellor Deep Saini also welcomed the result, which followed placements in Times Higher Education's top 100 Young Universities and Generation Y Universities as well as the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings.
"It is great to see that our growing reputation for quality teaching, world-leading research and innovative industry collaborations is being acknowledged in this region," he said.
"This is promising for a young university such as UC, which is building its research capability and has a strong focus on teaching excellence. There is a lot of work ahead, but we are very proud of the continuous efforts of our staff."
The University of Melbourne was Australia's highest-ranked institution, reaching third place.
The University of New South Wales came in at 16 and the Australian Catholic University was in the 111 to 120 range.
Times Higher Education rankings editor Phil Baty said it was "great news" Australia had 35 institutions on the scoreboard, almost all of which were in the top 100.
But he warned the nation was falling behind on research and teaching measures.
"Australia is a key research partner for many Asian universities so the nation can capitalise on the region's success to a certain extent," he said.
"However, Australia will also have to ensure it can maintain its performance as more of east Asia's top institutions soar to join the world elite."
