The centre was due to open on November 4, but it is now unknown how long it will take to repair the damage and get the completion of the new building back on track.
"There's damage to the internal fit-out, the walls, floors, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic services on levels four, three, two and one - the most damage is on level four [where] a joint in the pipe failed and spilt the hot water,'' Jacinta George of ACT Health said.
The leak was discovered on Saturday evening, after everything had been in working order when staff left on Friday night.
Patients booked to receive services at the new centre will not have their appointments cancelled. Those concerned about their appointments can contact 14A reception on 6244 2188 or Radiation Oncology reception on 6244 2241.
