Wet and dreary Christmas for Canberra region

Date

Julieanne Strachan

Canberrans have woken to wet and dreary Christmas weather this morning, which is not expected to clear any time soon.

The Bureau of Metrology has predicted isolated showers for the Capital until this evening, with light south to southeasterly winds and a maximum temperature of 24 degrees.

The rain should clear tomorrow, with Boxing Day weather predicted to be dry but partly cloudy with southeasterly winds tending easterly in the middle of the day.

Canberrans can expect a high of 23 degrees tomorrow and a low of 10 degrees.

ACT residents who have gone to the coast for Christmas are experiencing near identical weather conditions there, with a partly cloudy day Christmas Day punctuated by isolated showers.

The daytime maximum temperature on the coast is expected to be between 20 and 25 degrees.

Batemans Bay can expect a maximum temperature of 21 degrees today and tomorrow with showers today and Boxing Day.
