Police were called to a property at Wallaroo at about 9pm after the 44-year-old claimed she had been involved in an alleged road rage incident.
The woman was sitting in her car after an argument with a neighbour before hearing a loud noise and noticed her rear window had been shattered.
She was not injured but police have found “projectile fragments” in the car.
Police now wish to speak with a man, who is described as Caucasian appearance aged in his 50s, with grey short hair and a round face.
The man was last seen wearing a blue flannelette shirt.
“Police are also appealing for information to locate a 1994 white Toyota Hilux utility seen in the area at the time,” a NSW Police spokeswoman said.
“It has a NSW registration plate BS-83-CL. If a member of the public sights either the man or the vehicle, they should not approach them but contact Triple Zero immediately.”
