ACT Policing said the 29-year-old Mawson woman would be accused of drug driving and driving while disqualified.
"About 5.10pm, police noticed a car being driven dangerously in Proud Street, Forde. The driver stopped the car and attempted to flee from police on foot but was apprehended a short distance later," police said in a statement.
"When police returned to the vehicle with the driver, they found that she had left three children aged between two and seven years old unattended in the car."
Police took the woman and children to Gungahlin Police Station, where the woman was tested for drugs. They said she was a disqualified driver.
"The result is pending a final confirmation by a laboratory test. The woman and children were then taken to a relative's address," police said.
