Kelly has shaken off a hip complaint that sidelined him for last weekend's win over Brisbane, while Lobb and Smith come back in after overcoming groin and knee injuries, respectively.

The trio will join Nick Haynes, who successfully returned to the senior side last weekend, as the AFL's ladder leaders slowly but surely continue to rejuvenate their playing list after a horror run of injuries in 2017.

Young gun Tim Taranto joined the injured brigade after the Lions game, with ankle surgery earlier this week keeping him out of action for at least two months.

Harrison Himmelberg has been ruled out with a finger injury, while rookie Daniel Lloyd has been omitted in place of Smith, who hasn't played since injuring his knee in the captain's run before round nine.

Lobb, meanwhile, returns to the seniors for the first time since a last-gasp win over Richmond in round nine, and fresh from a run in the reserves last weekend.

"It was a groin, just around the pelvis area – it was causing me a bit of grief," Lobb said.

"I've been dealing with it for a while and I had a few instances against Collingwood and Richmond where it got landed on and stirred it up a bit too much to play.

"I didn't train too much when I first stopped playing that first couple of weeks. That's why I had to build myself up so much to get playing again.

"I had a run in the NEAFL last week and got through fine, so I was lucky enough to get picked by [coach] Leon [Cameron]."

Geelong have their own injury concerns heading into the crunch clash with captain Joel Selwood hoping to shake off the concussion he suffered last weekend.

A decision on his fitness is unlikely to be made until game day, and the Giants will prepare as if he is playing.

"He's a hard nut and a really good contested ball player – you've got the concussion rules, but if he gets up, he gets up," Lobb said.

"We've got some pretty good contested ball players like Callan Ward and Josh Kelly. It'll be a good contest inside.

"We're up for the fight. We're probably not playing our best footy but we're getting a few back."
