Supermarket extension, suburban upgrades planned for Kambah
A multi-million dollar makeover is planned for one of Canberra's largest suburbs, including an extension of Woolworths and an upgrade of public parks and facilities.
A development application has been lodged to extend the supermarket at Kambah Village, off Primmer Court, and the construction of a new specialty shop and non-retail commercial suites.
The Woolworths supermarket would extend by 1754 square metres to a total of 3475 square metres under the plan.

Track and field family bands together after fire disaster
Clubs from across the territory have offered to donate equipment following Monday's devastating shed fire at Woden Athletics Park.
Arsonists torched a storage shed at Woden Athletics Park on Monday night, destroying dozens of pieces of equipment used by five athletics organisations.
Woden Little Athletics secretary, Mel Hardy, said she had been contacted by clubs across the territory offering to donate and share equipment so it could run the meet.

Grease is still the word and back in a big way
One of the most popular Broadway musicals is coming to Canberra in a big way.
Grease - the Arena Experience at AIS Arena brings the show about teenage love in the 1950s to life on a large scale.
As well as the well-known characters and songs, the show uses about 350 Canberra young people aged between eight and 21 as chorus members.

Foreigner brings rock to Canberra, complete with orchestra
He’s been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, lives in New York City and hobnobs with some of the world’s hottest musicians.
But Mick Jones thinks Canberra is the perfect place to spend a few days while he gears up for a major national tour with his band, Foreigner.
The band has collaborated with the ANU School of Music for their latest album and tour of Australia.

The Everest brings back Dale's childhood feelings in one Fell Swoop
Races like the $13 million Everest remind Canberra trainer Matthew Dale of the feeling he had watching Melbourne Cups on TV as a kid.
A year on from his bittersweet running in the inaugural Everest, Dale is buoyant about Fell Swoop's upcoming return to the track.
While a return to The Everest isn't on the cards, the seven-year-old gelding is nominated for group 1s Manikato Stakes and Darley Classic.
