1. Pierces Creek fire
With the 2003 bushfire, which killed four people and destroyed nearly 500 homes, still etched in people's minds, it is no surprise a live blog on November's Pierces Creek blaze, which burnt more than 147 hectares of bush land, was the most clicked story of the year.
The fire, which burnt for several days, was started by a burnt-out car near pine forrest and was at one stage burning out of control seven kilometres away from Kambah on Canberra's south-west fringe.
