Tony Abbott's ministerial reshuffle ticks nearly all the right boxes

Unexpectedly and perhaps tragically, Arthur Sinodinos never fulfilled the high hopes that many in the federal Liberal Party held for him when he entered politics in 2011. But Prime Minister Tony Abbott would have had reason to thank Senator Sinodinos for his service to the party after his resignation as Assistant Treasurer last Thursday. For this paved the way for Mr Abbott to reshuffle his ministry and to announce the changes at the weekend rather than doing so the dog days of January, when interest in politics and government is at a low ebb.
