There are many reasons why obtaining a university education should be encouraged. However, Peter Martin's claim that university graduates, over their lifetimes, earn 40 to 75 per cent more than workers who go to work straight from school, could be misleading ("Good for graduates, bad for society. Why university is a waste", February 18).
