Zines and Christopher Oates at Tuggeranong
Tuggeranong Arts Centre is launching two exhibitions this week and one is all about zines. ZineSTARS explores the medium as a creative outlet, political agitator and experimental format, and includes an appearance by the Canberra Zine Machine. The show looks at the process behind zine-making with work by seven artists ZineSTARS runs until August 30. And in Seeing the Obvious, paintings by longtime Canberran Christopher Oates reflect on Canberra’s “unique urban and suburban infrastructure”, looking at the contrast between the rigidity of building materials and the disorder of the city’s pockets of bushland. Seeing the Obvious, by Christopher Oates, runs until August 29. Both exhibitions are at Tuggeranong Arts Centre, 137 Reed Street, Greenway.
