Absorbing at Glassworks
There's a beautiful new show on at the Canberra Glassworks, of dark, light and sound features by artists known for their work in energy and glass. Artists include Brian Corr, Ben Edols and Kathy Elliot, Nick Wirdnam and Jeff Zimmer, all "known for their sensitivity and innovation in working with glass and light, and exploring the powerful relationship between alchemic materials and luminous energy".
Mosaics in Bungendore
It's one of those art forms that always surprises me – the things you can do with mosaics. X Gallery in Bungendore is showing works by three mosaic artists, Caitlin Hughes, Kate Butler and Kelly Wild, each working in a distinctive way to challenge mosaic traditions, "playing with materials and textures as well as pursuing an individual line of inquiry".

As a jeweller I examine botanical specimens in my immediate vicinity and draw on the familiar and the unexpected to create a permanent record in silver and indigenous timbers," says the artist.
