Make sure you read Cosima Marriner's eye-opening piece on domestic violence. It's never an easy thing to read about, particularly on a Sunday, where it's surrounded by recipes, and holiday ideas, and books to read, but it's something we all need to read about, and think about, and talk about. It's rare too to get so many viewpoints on it. From the perpetrators to the victims, police and the legal fraternity.

It's an issue that affects many people, inside and outside the home. We all know someone who has been affected, indeed I'd go as far as saying we all know someone who's been affected and hasn't actually told anyone. Domestic violence permeates at all kinds of levels, from insults and controlling behaviours and the erosion of self belief and confidence. It doesn't have to involve bruises. Keep an eye on each other. Be kind.
November 25 is White Ribbon Day, the international day of the elimination of violence against women. Do your bit.
