When this album cooks, it really cooks.

I enjoyed this serving of soul and deep funk on an album that gives plenty to the hungry listener. The Melbourne trio’s sixth release, with the playful organ/guitar jams dotting between key note tracks, it doesn’t take long before you get immersed in what the band has to offer.

Featuring Jason Heerah, the album’s first highlight came on You Got The Better of Me. I also enjoyed Daniel Merriweather on Losing’ Streak and Harry Angus singing Last Man Standing. Finally, on Mind Made Up Kylie Auldist lent her vocal chops to a catchy, satisfying and authentic soul groove.
