DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith and his girlfriend Sky Ferreira may disrupt plans for the forthcoming Big Day Out after they were arrested for heroin and ecstasy possession.

The pair were pulled over by traffic police in New York over the weekend and were reportedly found with a “plastic bag containing 42 decks of heroin”.
In addition to his plastic bag, 28-year-old Smith was reportedly charged for driving a stolen car (with a dodgy exhaust) without a license and without insurance.
Ferreira, who recently walked for Marc Jacobs' spring-summer 2014 show at New York Fashion Week, was charged with “possession of ecstasy and resisting arrest”, according to a police department press release.
DIIV are on the bill for the BDO, and 21-year-old Ferreira is due to release her first album, Night Time, My Time, in October.
After they posed for their mug shots, the couple continued on their merry way to the Basilica SoundScape festival in rural New York.
DIIV performed and Ferreira joined Smith on stage for a cover of Cat Power's Naked As The News. After the show, Smith took to Twitter to recap the night's events.
“What you're reading is police botter, not the outcome of a court case. These cops wanted to f--k us, and they did. Sky did nothing wrong,” he posted.
They will face court on September 23.
