I became interested in dance because: I felt a deep and strong connection to music as a little girl and I still do. I remember getting out of bed early every day before school to put on a record of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. I would dance around the living room for hours, choreographing classical ballet and dreaming of performing the role of Odette/Odile. I have always loved the creative outlet that dance provides, and how dance can move an entire audience without use of the spoken word. It is a very powerful and transformative medium.

My next piece as a choreographer is: Several pieces for the Gungahlin Dance Academy (GDANCE) Performance Team for 2015 including a new senior classical ballet piece and theatrical Broadway number. The team will travel to many competitions throughout Australia showcasing their dancing and the choreography.
The Gungahlin Dance Academy's aim is: To provide a positive and exciting learning environment where dancers can have fun, receive exceptional technical instruction and experience the incredible art of dance. GDANCE encourages dancers to take the disciplines of dance into their everyday lives, helping to build self-confidence, good self-esteem and a desire to succeed.
My degree in communications and creative advertising is useful because: Dance and advertising are interestingly linked, because both are about connection with one's audience. My degree was a fantastic base to build on because not only did it cover creative strategy, focusing on new and unique ways to connect with an audience, but it taught me many facets of business management and communicative theory, including mass communication, intercultural communication and organisational communication.
My favourite form of dance is: Classical ballet, in its purest form. There is a certain clean quality, grace and simple beauty about classical ballet that I have always been drawn to. A true artist can make the simplest of movements look exquisite, and when I witness this kind of artistry, I am reminded of that little girl in the living room, listening to Swan Lake, dreaming of becoming THAT artist. I am fortunate that now I get to assist many little girls and boys fulfil their dreams.
