Fairfax Media, the publisher of this website, has also attracted some angry comments for running the Marriage Alliance's ad online.
Customers have been telling Foxtel they will cancel their subscriptions on Monday and leaving rude emojis on Foxtel's Facebook site.
In among questions about bundle bills and where they can watch The Walking Dead, viewers have also left messages like, "disgusted you gave voice to such a shameful and discriminatory ad for the Marriage Alliance".
"What the hell is up with the gay ads. Your [sic] a joke."
Fairfax has seen readers express their disgust that the publisher also ran the ads.
"This is a group that spreads fear by using misinformation and lies," one reader posted on Facebook.
On Monday afternoon a Fairfax Media spokesman said: "The advertising Fairfax runs is just that, advertising, and not reflective of the company's position on anything whatsoever."
The ads have been running on Foxtel since last week and are due to run through this week.
Channels Ten and Seven have refused to show the 30-second ad that shows same-sex marriage as an iceberg with the tagline, "it's not as simple as you think".
Foxtel, which has signed a corporate campaign in support of same-sex marriage and has been airing ads for the pro-same-sex marriage lobby since the weekend, has further angered some customers with its justification for airing the ads.
"This decision was not made lightly and was made with the active involvement of senior gay executives," it posted on Facebook.
"We believe this debate should be won by the force of the argument in favour of reform, not by refusing to engage in debate or to allow contrary opinions to be put."
As one viewer posted in response, "stop spreading that stupid message".
The Marriage Alliance is a newly-formed group that describes itself as independent.
The campaigns for and against same-sex marriage are intensifying as MPs prepare to lodge a cross-party bill to legalise same-sex marriage with the House of Representatives Tables Office on Tuesday.
As MPs arrived in Canberra for the start of the spring sitting, they were greeted by a rainbow light display at the airport.
High-profile Australians, including AFL players Josh Bruce and Matt Spangher, actor Hugo Weaving and television news reader Chris Bath are featuring in ads in support of same-sex marriage, calling on Parliament to stop stalling on the issue.
On Monday, the anti-same-sex marriage group, Australian Marriage Forum, took out a full page ad in The Australian newspaper, arguing that "all relationships matter. But not all relationships are Marriage".
Protesters against same-sex marriage also gathered outside Parliament House.
