It has taken more than seven months, but Western Australia finally has the result of its Senate election.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Australian Electoral Commission announced the final count for the election re-run that was held on April 5.
As was expected as counting progressed, the Liberal Party has won three seats with Labor, the Greens and Palmer United Party securing one seat each.
This will see controversial Labor candidate Joe Bullock elected to the Senate, while Labor senator Louise Pratt misses out.
Ahead of the September election, Mr Bullock was installed at the top of Labor's WA Senate ticket in place of Senator Pratt, due to a factional deal between the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Union and the United Voice union.
Also newly elected are the Liberal senator-elect Linda Reynolds and PUP senator-elect Zhenya Wang.
Greens senator Scott Ludlam, and Liberal senators David Johnston and Michaelia Cash were returned.
The final result paves the way for the poll to be declared on May 1 before the new Senate takes its place from July 1.
It also comes after an agonising wait for voters and candidates in WA.
Following the first Senate vote during the 2013 federal election on September 7, the WA result had to be recounted following an appeal due to the closeness of the result.
During the recount, more than 1300 ballot papers were lost, leading to the Court of Disputed Returns voided the result.
The final result from April 5 differs from both the first and second counts of the original vote taken in September.
In the first count, Mr Wang and Senator Pratt were elected in the fifth and sixth spots.
In the second count, Wayne Dropulich from the Australian Sports Party and Senator Ludlam were elected in the fifth and sixth spots.
The final result will give the Coalition 33 seats in the new Senate, Labor 25 and the Greens 10.
The balance of power will be determined by the Palmer United Party and a diverse range of crossbench senators, including independent Nick Xenophon and Family First's Bob Day.
