Gone are the Campbell soup cans, Louis Vuitton's latest collection of bags and accessories has taken pop art to the next (bougie) level by featuring works of legitimate art.

New York-based artist Jeff Koons has collaborated with the luxury fashion house for a capsule range designed with iconic works by Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Jean-Honoré Fragonard and Vincent Van Gogh.

"I believe that these bags are art," Koons said as the collection was unveiled in Paris overnight.

His range of leather goods includes the brand's popular Speedy bags, chain bags and Palm Springs backpacks that have been painted with da Vinci's Mona Lisa or Van Gogh's A Wheatfield with Cypresses.

For those that didn't take art history 101 as an elective during the first year of your Arts degree or were too hung over to do the Louvre tour on your last Contiki Tour, the bags will be emblazoned with the name of each of the "Old Masters" Koons has replicated. Each bag will also come with biographies of the artist so you don't even have to rummage around in it, and risk damaging the fine leather, while taking out your iPhone to Google..

They will also feature the oft-ripped off Louis Vuitton "LV" monogram and Koons' initials.

"Koons has also reconfigured the famous Louis Vuitton Monogram to bear his initials. This represents a radical departure for the House, which has previously never allowed its iconic pattern to be reshaped," a statement, without a hint of irony, to the press read.

The LV x Koons collection will go on sale in select Vuitton stores and a New York-pop up site from April 28 and will range in price from $780 to more than $5000.

What about those who can't afford a piece?

"Well, they can walk by the window of Louis Vuitton and enjoy them," Koons told The New York Times.
