An extra 150 Mr Fluffy homes are expected to be demolished this calendar year following good progress on the works scheduled to date.

Andrew Kefford, the head of the Asbestos Response Taskforce, said the original plan had been for 200 homes to be demolished in 2016. This target has been increased by 150 homes to 350.
He said the increase "reflects the efficiency of the program" and "ongoing growing industry capacity".
A total of 270 Mr Fluffy homes have been demolished to date. This is well up on the 100 homes reported to have been demolished at the start of April.
Blocks are now being cleared at the rate of 50 a month by eight head contractors employing more than 100 workers, some of whom have come from as far afield as Western Australia.
The bulk of the unoccupied homes are now expected to be demolished by March 2018. Homeowners with longer settlement dates, some of which extend out to June 30, 2020, will likely be given the opportunity to vacate sooner if they wish.
Mr Kefford said while it was impossible to guarantee any block of land was asbestos free, the risk of serious contamination being discovered on any of the blocks that had been through the Mr Fluffy process was minute.
He would also be surprised if new Mr Fluffy houses were discovered in the ACT.
"I think it is very unlikely that further houses will come to light but, having said that, there has been a small number since the original program so we are not able to be definitive.
"I think people can be confident if they are not already engaged in this process it is most unlikely they have a house that was built before 1980 that has Mr Fluffy asbestos in it."
Mr Kefford was speaking at the release of updated information on demolition scheduling which will give owners whose properties have not yet been torn down more accurate information on when this will occur.

One homeowner, who had gone through the process of watching his former home demolished, described the experience as "surprisingly cathartic" and said he was surprised at the amount of loose fill asbestos that remained after remediation works before the turn of the century.
Mr Kefford said the cost of the program was unchanged since the ACT budget earlier this year.
The overall spend, of which $740 million was spent buying back houses, remains about $1 billion. The estimated net cost, after revenue from the sales of remediated blocks is taken into account, is about $400 million.
Following allegations furniture had been removed, apparently for resale, from at least one condemned Mr Fluffy property earlier this year the taskforce has tightened its controls over contractors.
"[We have] instituted, firstly on a trial basis and now across the whole program, a new workpractice that effectively means that abandoned furniture and fittings never leaves the houses," Mr Kefford said.
No evidence of wrongdoing had been found by either the police or the taskforce through its own internal investigation of the allegations.
