It's been just over a year since international flights were launched on Singapore Airlines between the two little capitals, and this weekend, the New Zealand capital has sent over some of it's top food and art representatives for a collaboration with Canberra.
A Taste of Two Cities will fill Kendall Lane in New Acton on Saturday, for a bi-city celebration of craft beer, food, wine and music.
Chefs Rob Essenburg and Simon Pepping from hip Wellington restaurant Egmont Street Eatery will collaborate with Monster's Sean McConnell and Dan Flatt in a purpose-built laneway kitchen, serving up a one-off menu.
A laneway pop-up bar will pour Wellington craft brews from Garage Project, Choice Bros, Kereru and Fork Brewing, alongside Capital Brewing and BentSpoke.
Wines from both cities will be available to taste side by side in the New Acton courtyard, with some of the top drops from 10 Canberra region vineyards plus visitors Escarpment Vineyard, Borthwick Wines and Matahiwi Estate.
On top of the laneway kitchen, Wellington songstress Eva Prowse and Canberra's Lucy Sugerman will perform, including a collaborative song between the two.
And Canberra author Sean Costello will launch a special zine, telling a tale of love and discovery between a Canberran and a Wellingtonian.
A Taste of Two Cities is on from midday-5pm with free entry. Tickets to the wine tasting event are $20, which includes a glass and all tastings, from Eventbrite or at the gate.
