The scars on their bodies are reminders of the cruelty and abuse they have endured.
Harry, a Rottweiler, and Sandy, a shepherd cross, arrived at RSPCA ACT almost two years ago with fractures and medical conditions that required repeated surgery.
Despite their terrible past, the dogs have remained "trusting", "affectionate", and "playful". Now they're ready for a new life with someone who will love them.
"Dogs like Harry and Sandy never cease to amaze our staff and volunteers," said RSPCA ACT chief executive Michael Linke.
"It's time to find these two beautiful dogs new homes."
Mr Linke said Harry, 4, needs an owner who can help him rebuild his confidence.
Sandy, about 8, loves people and Mr Linke said she would make an excellent indoor companion.
"Harry would be best suited to a home with no children," Mr Linke said.
"Sandy would do best as the only dog in her new household.
"Both dogs need owners who have experience with dogs and are prepared to love them for who they are."
