A wind farm generating renewable energy for the ACT has run at full power for 47 per cent of the year so far, making it Australia's best performing wind farm in 2018.

Data released by renewable energy developer Windlab shows Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm, near Bendigo in Victoria, is one of just two Australian wind farms to break the 45 per cent threshold in 2018.
Windlab co-owns the Coonooer Bridge Wind Farm with Eurus Energy and local farmers.
The wind farm began generating renewable electricity for the ACT in 2016 after winning a 20-year deal to supply energy for the territory at $81.50 per megawatt hour.
The deal was struck as part of an ACT government "reverse auction" process, in which wind farms competed to supply the territory with energy in exchange for a feed-in tariff.
Coonooer Bridge is a 19.4-megawatt wind farm with six turbines and the capacity to generate 81,856 megawatt hours of power per year.
Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability Shane Rattenbury said he was pleased to see Coonooer Bridge leading the way, with another ACT-supported wind farm, Hornsdale 1 in South Australia, the fourth best performer according to the Windlab data.
"Coonooer Bridge and Hornsdale 1 were among the first wind farms to be successful in the ACT’s innovative reverse auctions for providing large-scale wind and solar-generated electricity," Mr Rattenbury said.
"The fact they are performing so well shows we did our due diligence in partnering with wind farms based in good locations.”
Mr Rattenbury said the ACT government was well on track to achieve its goal of sourcing 100 per cent of the territory's electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
“Several of our wind farms are now online, with others like Crookwell 2 and Hornsdale 2 starting to feed electricity into the grid in September and December, respectively," Mr Rattenbury said.
"This will bring our renewable electricity generation to about 85 per cent."
