A number of ACT schools have been identified as showing significant improvement in students' performance in a database of literacy and numeracy results released overnight.

The NAPLAN results of about 9500 schools throughout Australia was updated early Wednesday on the My School website.
Theodore Primary School, Emmaus Christian School and Orana Steiner School have been identified by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority as making substantially above average improvements in student gain for the past three years.
Gain is identified when the same cohort of students demonstrate improvements in their NAPLAN results as they progress from year 3 to 5 or, as in the case of the latter two schools, between years 7 and 9.
Also among the 19 schools highlighted by ACARA was Burgmann Anglican School for reading and numeracy, Evatt Primary School for numeracy and Holy Trinity Primary School for reading.
Education Minister Yvette Berry said the ACT's NAPLAN results were consistently among the country's strongest.
"While NAPLAN is an important test to give us a snapshot of how our students are tracking in literacy and numeracy, it is not the only measure that is important in ensuring every child receives a great education and the life chances which flow from it," she said.
"For parents who may look at the My School information, it is helpful for a quick snapshot of school data, but nothing replaces organising a visit to a school, getting a feel for the school and speaking to the principal about their vision, culture and community."
The My School update also features updated student enrolment and attendance figures, school staff numbers and finances.
