Canberra buses will be out of action for four hours next Tuesday as bus drivers vote on new shift arrangements.

ACTION buses will stop running from 10am until 2pm on Tuesday, June 28, while services will run on a limited timetable from 9.30am until 10am and 2pm to 2.30pm to allow bus drivers to attend the meeting with the Transport Workers Union.
Acting director of public transport, Ian McGlinn said the meeting has been scheduled outside peak travel times to minimise inconvenience to travellers.
He said school and special needs services, including the Flexible Bus Service, will not be affected.
"The ACT Government has been working closely with the TWU on a revised timetable and shift arrangement that meets the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement requirements of our drivers while providing great bus services for our customers," Mr McGlinn said.
"The new timetable will include changes to routes including the new Weston Line, expanded services in the Molonglo Valley and direct services for Crace, Latham and Florey.
"If accepted by the drivers, the new shift arrangement will provide a workable alternative to the current requirements under the EBA."
Notices will be on display at stations to inform commuters of the four-hour stoppage and staff will be at the stations on Tuesday to remind people.
"Customers should plan ahead and avoid travel between the hours of disruption to prevent any inconvenience on Tuesday. ACTION apologises for this disruption and thanks the Canberra community for their understanding and cooperation," Mr McGlinn said.
