For a second day and a total of nearly seven hours an ADFA cadet who says a fellow cadet raped her has defended her account under intense cross-examination.

She has denied repeatedly in response to defence barrister Steven Whybrow's questions on Thursday, that she ever wanted a romantic relationship with the accused Jack Toby Mitchell, 19, or that she consented to sex with him early in the morning of May 28, 2016.
The woman, whose identity is suppressed, was also forced to deny suggestions she had broken up with her high school boyfriend just weeks before the alleged incident because of what was developing with Mr Mitchell. "I did not want to pursue a relationship with Jack and I broke up with [my boyfriend] because of months of problems," she said.
Mr Mitchell has pleaded not guilty to the one charge of rape, and says he had consensual sex with the woman.
Barristers in Thursday's cross-examination again sought to characterise the cadets' relationship as one of mutual attraction and of more than friendship.
Hundreds and hundreds of messages between the two 18-year-old cadets in the lead-up to the alleged rape were scrutinised for meaning and intent.
Mr Whybrow suggested many were "flirty". The woman said she had been joking, not flirting. "It's reasonable to joke with someone that you know. I was joking with a friend."
Throughout Thursday Mr Whybrow plucked at the hundreds of text messages from Mr Mitchell to the woman starting from early May: "I think you're amazing", "Good night beautiful", "I'm a nice guy ... I just want to get to know you."
The woman conceded she knew he was interested. She turned him down on one request for a date saying, "that sounds really nice but I think I just want to chill for a bit".
Mr Whybrow noted she had not outright told Mr Mitchell she did not want to go out, which she accepted, but disagreed with the suggestion she only meant "not yet".
The woman, who was 18, has denied suggestions she liked and was attracted to Mr Mitchell but was worried about getting into a new relationship so soon after breaking up with her high school boyfriend.
The court heard ADFA had a healthy "rumour mill".
The woman agreed that she had gone back to Mr Mitchell's room on the morning of May 28 after a night out at Mooseheads and consensually kissed him, but she said this was a kiss between friends. She also agreed he had with her consent touched her.
Was he touching you as a friend? Mr Whybrow asked.
"No. I don't know what you're trying to imply," she said.
"You were allowing him to touch you intimately ... because you wanted to have sex with him."
"No," came the reply.
The woman says she was drunk and fell asleep in his room. She says she woke to Mr Mitchell having sex with her, and that he continued after she tried to push him away.
The barrister suggested the woman in fact had consensual sex with Mr Mitchell in a natural progression of their flirtation and then felt guilty about it and made up the rape allegation. "I don't agree with that," she said.
The trial continues.
